A Free IT Assessment, Written for the Person Signing the Checks
Most business owners we meet can describe their IT setup in about two sentences. There are some computers. There's a server, or there used to be. Somebody handles it.
That's not a criticism — you didn't start this company to become an expert in backup retention policy. But it does mean that when something goes wrong, you find out what you actually had at the worst possible moment.
The assessment fixes that. It costs nothing, it doesn't obligate you to anything, and at the end you own the report whether you hire us or not.
What We Actually Look At
We're not running a scan and printing a 90-page PDF full of red boxes. We look at the handful of things that determine whether your business keeps running on a bad day.
- What you own and how old it is. Every computer, server, switch, and firewall — what it is, how old, and when it stops being supported.
- Whether your backups would actually restore. Not whether backups are running. Whether anyone has ever tested putting the data back.
- Who can get to what. Which accounts have administrator rights, which former employees still have access, and whether multi-factor authentication is really on everywhere you think it is.
- Your exposure to the internet. What's reachable from outside your building, and what shouldn't be.
- The licensing you're paying for. Microsoft 365, line-of-business software, and the subscriptions nobody remembers signing up for.
- Where the single points of failure are. The one machine, the one person, or the one phone line that takes the whole operation down.
What You Get
A short report, written in English, that answers four questions:
- What do you have right now?
- What would actually hurt you, ranked by how likely it is and how bad it would be?
- What should be fixed in the next 30 days, and what can wait?
- Roughly what does fixing it cost?
We walk you through it in a 45-minute conversation. You keep the report. If you want to hand it to your current IT provider and have them do the work, that's a completely acceptable outcome — and it happens.
How Long It Takes
| Step | What happens | Your time |
|---|---|---|
| Intro call | 20 minutes to understand your business and what's been frustrating you | 20 min |
| Data collection | We deploy a read-only agent and review what comes back | ~1 hour of access coordination |
| On-site or remote walkthrough | We look at the physical setup, the server closet, the shop floor | 1–2 hours |
| Findings review | We present the report and answer questions | 45 min |
Start to finish, about two weeks. Your total time investment is under four hours.
Who This Is For
We work with manufacturers, HVAC and plumbing and electrical contractors, construction firms, and logistics and distribution operations — companies between roughly 10 and 250 employees where IT is supposed to be invisible and becomes very visible when it breaks.
It's a particularly good fit if any of these sound familiar:
- Your current IT support is one person, and you've started wondering what happens if they leave
- Your cyber insurance renewal asked questions you couldn't answer
- A customer sent you a security questionnaire and you don't know how to fill it out
- You're opening a second location, acquiring someone, or being acquired
- Things basically work, but nobody can tell you what would happen if they didn't
The Catch
There isn't one, but here's the honest version: we do this because a meaningful share of the businesses we assess decide they'd rather we handle it. Some don't, and that's fine. We'd still rather you know where you stand.
We won't cold-call you afterward, we won't put you on a drip campaign, and there's no pressure to decide anything on the call.
